EARLY MORNING cruise

Not only is it a special time on the river that only early mornings can offer, but it is the optimum opportunity for some great bird-watching and photography. Species often found include the Great- Billed Heron (Ardea sumatrana), Black Bittern (Lxobrychus minutes) when in season, Nankeen Night Heron (Nycticorax caledonicus), Papuan Frogmouth (Podargus Papuensis), Double-Eyed Fig Parrot (Psittaculirostris Diophthalma), Wompoo Fruit-Dove (Ptilinopus magnificus), Shining Flycatcher (Myiagra cyanoleuca), Large-billed Gerygone (Gerygone magnirostris), Yellow bellied Sunbird – (Olive backed) (Nectrinia jugularis), just to name a few…as there are too many to mention.
